Idarat Group: Closing Gaps a CTO Didn't Know Were There
The Situation
Idarat Group is a technology company operating in Saudi Arabia, and Rodolph Abu Nassar, its CTO, was looking for outside help with communication, public speaking, and strategic messaging. Rather than picking the first name that came up, he researched multiple coaches, interviewed several of them, and compared approaches before deciding who to work with.
Before
Rodolph came in confident in his technical and leadership ability, but without a clear read on where his communication itself was breaking down; the specific gaps weren't visible to him because they lived in areas he assumed were already strengths. Most of the coaches he'd spoken with led with a pre-built course or curriculum, which is part of why he kept looking.
What Happened
In the first sessions, Elio didn't start with a framework — he started asking questions. That questioning surfaced specific gaps in Rodolph's messaging that he hadn't recognized himself, including in areas where he felt he already had a handle on things. For each one, Elio gave him two or three solutions that were concrete and immediately usable, not a long list of options to sort through, plus exercises Rodolph could keep applying on his own between sessions. Rodolph noted the approach mirrored how Idarat itself works with its customers: find the specific problem, treat the person, not the symptom, and hand over something practical rather than generic.
After
The engagement didn't end at the first block of sessions — Rodolph and Elio continue to work together past the initial round, which he pointed to directly as proof the approach was working, not just pleasant. The gaps that were invisible to him going in are now named, worked on, and being actively closed.
"His approach was pragmatic, kind of engineering. For every problem, Elio picked two or three solutions that were right on the spot and easy to implement. He didn't overwhelm me with ideas, and he didn't just hand me a generic course."
